In ‘Orient Express’, a breathless cover of a masterwork by Joe Zawinul, that immense builder of bridges between Europe, Africa and the Orient, the Sissoko-Segal-Parisien-Peirani quartet, without resorting to either electricity or a bush fire of percussion, manages to preserve the DNA of the original whilst completely rebuilding its tissue, its vital force, its infectious groove.
The two virtuoso duos Sissoko-Segal and Parisien-Peirani share a common desire to cross sounds, transcend genres and to listen to each other play.
