Excerpt from the stage musical “Tian zong yong cai.” In this scene, a poet and his ardent fan/friend collectively (pretend to) denounce the poet's works -- a scene strongly reminiscent of denunciation rallies during the Cultural Revolution https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denunciation_rally.
Wu Yong, the poet in this play, hopes to touch the contours of what is real (找寻真实的模样) amidst an absurd word. I can only hope that my translation can touch the contours of the incredibly poetic original work.
